The transportation reorganization is one of the measures taken in Cuba in the
framework of the Energy Revolution with the objective of saving fuel. This article
deals with making a more appropriate use of the loading capacity and the routes
for loading transportation at the Empresa de Recuperación de Materias Primas
de Sancti Spíritus (ERMPSS) –Raw Material Recovery Enterprise of Sancti
Spiritus-. Making such a decision represents a challenge for itself, because it is
necessary to demonstrate its viability in practice, since it represents a change of
concepts in the transportation management, strategies and, in some cases, in
the expenditure of resources. The present work sets up the basis for making
such a decision as it departs from a diagnosis of the Energy Management (GE),
carried out with the aid of tools of the Energy Total Efficient Management
Technology (TGTEE), which defines the existing conditions before this work and
analyzes the indicators that technically should be used to demonstrate the
energy feasibility of the reorganization. It also demonstrates that a saving can be
reached by: the rationalization of the vehicle fleet, the relocation by municipalities
in function of the levels of each activity and the strict usage of the maintenance
engineering, with an economy of 51 443, 97 L of Diesel and an economical effect
of $ 36 010,7 8 CUC.
