La presente investigación se realizó con el fin de evaluar los efectos psicológicos generados por la migración en el adulto mayor, se ha tuvo en cuenta diferentes referentes teóricos metodológico sobre el tema. Según las particularidades de esta investigación se asumieron una metodología mixta, donde el enfoque principal es el cualitativo, se adoptó el diseño anidado o incrustado concurrente de modelo dominante. Se utilizaron varios métodos y técnicas entre ellos se encuentran: análisis de documentos, entrevista semi-estructurada y observación. La muestra seleccionada fue homogénea, específicamente muestra de caso tipo. Quedando conformada por 40 adultos mayores (30 mujeres y 10 hombres), pertenecientes al municipio de Cabaiguán. Se estudiaron las siguientes sub-categorías de análisis: Estados Emocionales Negativos (Depresión, Ansiedad y Stress), Alteraciones de la Conducta Alimenticia, Alteraciones de los Hábitos del Sueño, Alteraciones de la Rutinas Cotidianas y Somatizaciones.
Como resultado principal se obtuvo las sub-categorías Ansiedad, Alteración de la Rutina Cotidiana y Somatizaciones en un Nivel Bajo; los Estados Emocionales Negativos y la Depresión en un Nivel Medio y el Stress, Alteraciones de la Conducta Alimenticia y la Alteración de los Hábitos de Sueño en un Nivel Alto.
The present investigation was carried out in order to evaluate the psychological effects generated by migration in the elderly, taking into account different methodological theoretical references on the subject. According to the particularities of this research, a mixed methodology was assumed, where the main approach is the qualitative one, the nested or embedded concurrent design of the dominant model was adopted. Several methods and techniques were used, among them are: document analysis, semi-structured interview and observation. The selected sample was homogeneous, specifically a typical case sample. Being made up of 40 older adults (30 women and 10 men), belonging to the municipality of Cabaiguán. The following sub-categories of analysis were studied: Negative Emotional States (Depression, Anxiety and Stress), Alterations in Eating Behavior, Alterations in Sleep Habits, Alterations in Daily Routines and Somatizations.
As a main result, the sub-categories Anxiety, Alteration of the Daily Routine and Somatizations at a Low Level were obtained; Negative Emotional States and Depression at a Medium Level and Stress, Alterations of Eating Behavior and Alteration of Sleep Habits at a High Level.
