La Revolución Socialista de Octubre es uno de los hechos de enorme trascendencia histórica en el siglo XX, que sigue suscitando notable interés por parte de aquellos que estudian la evolución social de la pasada centuria. Para los cubanos, tan marcados por su influencia, el tema no ha perdido actualidad; en
tal sentido, el artículo se planteó como objetivo analizar cómo se divulgaron en la prensa de Sancti Spíritus, las noticias provenientes de Rusia, para de este modo, contribuir a una mejor comprensión de la percepción que se pudo tener en el territorio espirituano sobre el acontecimiento histórico que tuvo lugar en el gran país euroasiático en los días inmediatamente posteriores a la revolución. Se particulariza el análisis de los periódicos El Fénix y El Comercio. Se logró constatar que el tema fue ampliamente tratado, sobre todo, en El Comercio, donde además de las noticias divulgadas, se comentó con relativa profusión, sobre el mismo, desde un enfoque generalmente negativo.
The October Socialist Revolution is one of the most significant events in the twentieth century history and it is still a widely studied subject by those who analyze the social evolution during the aforementioned period of time. In Cuba, this issue is extremely relevant to date due to its undeniable influence. Hence, this paper is aimed at analyzing the approach used by the press of Sancti Spiritus to address the news from Russia, thereby contributing to a better understanding of the perception in Sancti Spiritus of the historical revolution in the subsequent days to the event. Specifically, El Fénix and El Comercio newspapers were revised. Overall, the topic was extensively discussed, mostly in El Comercio with a predominantly negative connotation.
